Burundi: Evariste Ndayishimiye first visit to his godfather Magufuli to ask him for advice on the management of the interahamwe present in Burundi
After 100 days in power, President Ndayishimiye made on September 19, 2020, a one-day official visit to Kigoma. According to information found on SOS media, the two presidents will discuss the return of refugees, security between the two countries, and others. But, SOS Medias, which quotes information from government sources, adds that Ndayishimiye went to receive advice from his sponsor Magufuli on the management of the country.
After the electoral holdup of May 2020, former Tanzanian dignitaries including Jakaya Kikwete reportedly advised Evariste Ndayishimiye to end impunity, fight corruption and flagrant human rights violations in order to restore the image of the cnddfdd so that it can stay in power for a long time like chama cha mapinduzi (CCM)
The most beautiful girl in the world can only give what she has, they say. It is not Tanzania that would teach lessons on respect for human rights. When this country dares to violate the rights of the people who seek refuge in the eyes of the world, one has to imagine how it treats its own citizens. Magufuli mistreats all his political opponents like Ndayishimiye does. What the latter has more is that he dreams every day of how to do battle with the Tutsis of Burundi, which risks driving him mad. But, the cnddfdd went to CCM School. Tanzania has always supported the cnddfdd rebellion; it has supported its power until today. Tanzania is ready to do anything, even in violation of the law, to keep the cnddfdd and the military clique in power. It’s not out of love; it’s a matter of the interests of a number of Tanzanian leaders. They supported the cnddfdd during rebellion period; they signed documents for Tanzania to be reimbursed. If the Ccnddfdd leaves power, Tanzania risks losing these advantages that its leaders derive from Burundi. No one is unaware that all the fuel that is used in Burundi is from Kikwete and his group around Magufuli. Remember the late President Nkurunziza who initiated the demarcation of the border between Burundi and Tanzania, establishing separation markers at a time when the whole world knows that Bugufi is a territory of Burundi but which was attached to Tanzania by the Orts-Milner conventions. The Cap-Cairo railway which should be traced was not, the Belbases concession was not effective, Burundi does not operate them, therefore, the Bugufi should return by right to Burundi. It is understandable then that the cnddfdd remains with its godfather and Tanzania must fight anything that opposes Gitega’s power. Tanzania is therefore also responsible for all the misfortunes experienced by Burundians since the seizure of power by the cnddfdd.
According to a well-informed source, the tête-à-tête Evariste Ndayishimiye -Magufuli at the time when the Burundian president refused to participate in the Goma summit convened by Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi supposedly following the busy schedule, was organized to discuss more issues serious than people think. Evariste Ndayishimiye went to seek advice first, but also support.
Burundi’s ruling military clique is between a rock and a hard place. The management of the interahamwe risks causing them problems. They have mutual aid agreements signed with them, they have big money files that they have managed together (especially with the exploitation of minerals in the east of the DR Congo). Getting rid of these FDRL interahamwe elements becomes problematic. Justifying their presence on Burundian soil (their positions are known), in certain security institutions, when they are qualified as negative forces by the UN seems difficult to him. It is for this reason that Ndayishimiye feels ashamed to appear before the other heads of state in the region other than Magufuli. He would not have an answer on this question because this presence of the interahamwe in Burundi, this support to the FDRL by the power of Gitega have become obvious. We will have the opportunity to give you all the proof. But, already know that those who were captured with cans marked FDNB, testified; Major Habib Mudasiru, captured, told the military courts that they sought treatment in Burundi after being wounded in combat; Paul Rusesabagina said on September 15, 2020 in New York Times that he was on his way to Bujumbura when he found himself by surprise in Kigali on September 29, 2020 from Doubai. These are small examples that show that the military clique in power in Burundi supports those who disturb neighbouring Rwanda. Evariste Ndayishimiye then went to ask his godfather for advice on the management of this thorny issue
URN HITAMWONEZA finds that Tanzania must be taken on an equal footing with Burundi in the serious violations of human rights in Burundi, in the preparation of the genocide of the Tutsis in Burundi, Rwanda and eastern DR Congo. Tanzania needs to be prepared to take on this responsibility. Indeed, the minerals which are extracted in DR Congo by the FDRL pass through Burundi, then Tanzania to be sold abroad and the funds are used to buy war material which passes, either by the reverse path (Tanzania- Burundi-RDCongo), or directly through Ndadaye airport to be transported to the ranks of the FDRL. The Great Lakes sub-region and the African Union should look into this issue to avoid another war that could break out tomorrow and that would engulf the whole region.
