Burundi: Stop lies and political manipulation by the TRC
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission is provided for in the Arusha Accords. It was, in its conception, an instrument which should allow the Burundians to tell the truth and to reconcile in order to get out of the spiral of violence which has regularly mourned the country. But, now the cnddfdd power has changed its orientation to use it instead in political propaganda with the objective of arousing feelings of revenge and leading to the genocide planned by the military clique in power.
And everyone knows that these agreements are almost non-existent in the eyes of the cnddfdd system. The ruling military clique put forward the pretext that they did not negotiate it and therefore do not engage them. It is dishonesty to take certain extracts from this document and use them for political propaganda purposes without applying it in its letter and spirit. Today, the agreements have been definitively buried by the cnddfdd, but they will say that the TRC and ethnic balances are provided for by these same agreements to be used in their genocidal project. The agreements speak of balances in political positions; yet the clique applies the same principle to technical positions, from public to private, to NGOs.
Its objective is to find jobs for its sympathizers in order to show them that they are at the service of the Hutus who had been left in the oubliettes by the military authorities qualified as Tutsis, but also and especially to be able to motivate them so that they carry out illegal orders related to human rights violations up to genocide without hesitation.
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission is truncated in its composition and mission. In the spirit of the Arusha Accords, it should include international experts with the technical capacity to identify the age of a bone of an individual unearthed to know if it was killed in 1972, 1988, 1993, 1995, 2005, 2015, etc. Today, the government has managed to put at its head a Hutu extremist that he manipulates as he wishes in order to irritate the Hutus by showing them that only the Hutus were killed by the Tutsis (here represented by what they call for military powers). At the same time, the government uses a certain Kenny Claude Nduwimana (who declares himself a private journalist and who works in violation of all the rules of the trade without worrying) to cover and publish on social networks these activities of Pierre Claver Ndayicariye and take the opportunity to send clear messages to the Hutus inciting them to hatred against the Tutsis accused of all ills; a real incitement to genocide.
Mr Ndayicariye did not hesitate to say, in his report to parliament, that they unearthed the bones of people killed in 1972, that they also have lists of people killed in 1972, but also of students killed during the years. 1995 and 1996 at the Mutanga (Bujumbura) and Zege (Gitega) campuses. He will nowhere mention the Tutsis killed by the Hutus of Frodebu and Palipehutu in 1993 and of the cnddfdd in the years that followed. It is as if in this country, no Tutsi have been killed; or whether the Tutsis have no longer value in the eyes of Ndayicariye and his boss Evariste Ndayishimiye and his military clique now in power.
Another mission of Ndayicariye is to remove all the evidence of the genocide of Tutsis by the Hutus of Frodebu in 1993 (UN report S / 1996/682 of August 22, 1996). Everywhere he goes, he says he receives testimonies from people who have lost theirs or who have lived through the events. The latter are all manipulated cnddfdd members who have received instructions from the administration to show all the mass graves into which the Tutsi killed in 1993 were thrown; they know them by heart because they are the same ones who killed them; they know where they threw them. Remember that some Hutus, by killing the Tutsi in 1993, told them that it was their fathers who killed theirs in 1972; that it was time to avenge them. These are the witnesses that Ndayicarisye is consulting in order to succeed in his mission.
Even the evidence that is already visible, the Ndayishimiye power is doing everything to erase them. No one is unaware that he prevented the relatives and friends of the charred dead students in Kibimba from going to their memorial on their way forward as a pretext for security concerns. A metal cross that was on this memorial would have already been removed. Same gesture on the side of Gatumba where people no longer have access to the memorial to the Banyamulenge Tutsis killed in 2004 by the FNL PALIPEHUTU. Today, Gatumba zone chief Hussein Ntahetwa, on the instructions of the military clique led by Evariste Ndayishimiye, has put a team of imbonerakure there who are only gradually destroying it and preventing people from getting there. The zone chief reportedly said in a meeting with this cnddfdd militia that he no longer wants to see Tutsis buried in his zone.
URN HITAMWONEZA remains reassured that the time will come for everyone responsible for the Tutsi genocide that began a long time ago and which continues, and all those who deny it today, to answer for their actions. Already, we say to Evariste Ndayishimiye and Ndayicariye, stop this lie and the shameless montages. Tomorrow or the day after, you will no longer be in these places. The time will therefore come when you will have to answer, before independent courts, for all that you have done for the Burundians. And not all of the cnddfdd members you think you’re happy with will come and save you. Everyone will answer for their actions. And all those who do not blame themselves are rather called to unite with the Burundians who wish to see a country of peace for all, a country where it is beautiful to live, to accelerate the departure of these criminals. Tomorrow may be too late.
