Burundi: Rango’s displaced site in Kayanza Province would be about to be destroyed by Evariste Ndayishimiye’s power.
This site which houses the displaced people who have fled the genocide of Tutsis by Hutus extremists of the Frodebu in 1993 (Report S / 1996/682 of 22 August 1996) is on the site of the Parish Gasenyi in the area and commune Rango of Kayanza Province. In the vicinity is a common pit in which Tutsis killed in 1993 were thrown away. Many attempts to hunt on this site displaced people took place, but they have always been close to a fierce resistance of displaced people who believe that it is not yet time to return to their land. Some of these lands were recovered by their executioners; Today the Immbonerakure militia that controls the sector are waiting for them to firmly to kill them and to disappear the annoying witnesses of the 1993 genocide. These immbonerakure cannot be among those who committed it, some were not even born yet, but they work on behalf of the CNDFDD leaders who, in 1993, were members of the Frodebu and who took the path of the so-called rebellion to defend democracy, after committing the irreparable. Their presence in this site, as in other sites, beyond the CNDDFDD power. If these displaced people were not yet on the spot, it’s safe and certain that Pierre Claver Ndayicariye would have already returned to the place to dig up the bones of these Tutsis killed in 1993 and thrown into a common pit, calling them Hutu killed in 1972. It is still in this logic of the CNDDFDD to disappear all traces of this 1993 genocide.
The new incident of the Rango displaced site was triggered on Saturday, June 19, 2021 by Father Manasse, a Hutu, deputy of the parish priest, who took a machete and began to cut off the bananas plantation of the displaced. The latter opposed it and could prevent the famous priest from continuing to destroy their fields without any incident; Which did not prevent it from alerting the administration that it is threatened by the displaced. This intervened with the police and found no injury on the priest, and began to stop young people on the basis of the pre-established lists. In the evening, around 20:30, two shots were heard around the site, in a place called ” Kinyamaganga ” near the bistro of this priest, right next to the parish. This time, he shouted for help that he was attacked, that displaced people want to kill him. The police once again made a search in the site and found nothing. There too, they embarked some young people who would have been released after. Sunday, June 20, 2021, it was the tour of the governor of Kayanza province to put threats on this poor population. He meant that if they do not denounce those who shot fire, no one should still be in this site Sunday on June 27, 2021. It would appear that they are imbonerakure, prepared by the Father Manasse, who shots; precisely with the objective of putting this package on the back of the displaced, a motif invented to chase them from this site. According to information gathered on the spot, the site of Rango is the main site among all the sites in the province Kayanza because it is inhabited by people who have always successfully resisted all attempts to destroy it. In the military clique, they are convinced that if they managed to disperse the displaced in Rango, the rest would be very easy to do. That’s why they made lists of leaders that must be stopped and imprisoned. The police managed to put in two hands among these leaders and their intention is to load them from all the crimes (the priest Manasse is ready to invent as much as he can) and lead them directly to the Central Prison of Mpimba the faster possible. It is the same priest who handed out the municipal administration a list of officials that should also stop because are considered as the thinking heads of the population of this site.
This population asks for the Bishop of Ngozi who was the first to lead this parish after the crisis of 1993, to help them by preventing this priest from harassing them and if possible to give him a mutation and send it elsewhere in other parishes.
And URN Hitamwoneza to ask all human rights defenders and the international community to put pressure on the power of Evariste Ndayishimiye so that he leaves these poor displaced poor who have nowhere to go. If they return to their hills (those who can have the chance to find their properties), they know they will not have the second chance to survive; the imbonerakure are ready to lynch them without mercy.
