Burundi: President Ndayishimiye sends Sylvestre Ndayizeye to activate his imbonerakure militia in all sectors.
Burundi today finds itself on a slippery slope; the Burundians find themselves in total confusion. Armed groups have been attacking the country since August 23, 2020, some actions are claimed by the Red Tabara movement, others operate in silence, and the government is silent. When President Evariste Ndayishimiye comes out of his silence (September 25, 2020), a month later, it is to say that these groups do not exist, that ” who attacks the country begins with the presidency ” and ” must to have at least conquered a municipality ”. A new theory, specific to Evariste Ndayishimiye.
Rather, this saying nonsense shows the fear that this military clique has in the face of a situation they cannot control. These groups are so mobile and elusive, but continue to wreak havoc in the country, despite the presence of their imbonerakure militia on all the hills of the country. This fear can be seen in the cascading arbitrary arrests made on Tutsis in general and ex fab in particular and members of the CNL. The decision of the Minister of the Interior to limit the hours of karaoke and prayer vigils, the order of General Venant Bimenyimana to set fire to two citizen fishing boats on September 11, 2020, the meeting of the governor of Rumonge held on September 17 2020 with the administrators, fishermen, the police, with the presence of a representative of the National Security Council to talk about the surveillance of the lake, the forests, nature reserves burnt to reduce the cover of the rebels, are so much other elements which prove that these men of Ndayishimiye live the fear in the belly.
Despite multiple arrests made by members of the SNR, the police and the army, aided by members of the imbonerakure militia, President Ndayishimiye is not at all satisfied. The appeal launched to them on August 29, 2020 by Minister Ezéchiel Nibigira in Kayanza does not seem to have had the desired effect. It is for this reason that he once again sent the national chief of imbonerakure, Sylvestre Ndayizeye, to meet them physically in all sectors, to activate them so that they are more vigilant and intolerant of Tutsis and political opponents.
Sylvestre Ndayizeye was in Kirundo on September 25, 2020. He would have gathered, according to our sources, imbonerakures selected on the basis of their bravery throughout the province, in a place located in a valley in a locality called Mu Rwanyange. In the company of the provincial police commissioner, Sylvestre Ndayizeye would have given clear orders: to follow very closely all the political opponents and to crush them at the slightest suspicion, as one crushes a bug (kubafyonda nk’igihere), then bury them in the before quickly.
The head of the imbonerakure in Kirundo commune, accompanied by the administrator of the commune had also held a meeting with the imbonerakure of the commune, on September 5, 2020, to remind them that it is necessary to monitor the movements of returnees from Rwanda and that a lesser deviation would bring them death without other forms of trial. Sylvestre Ndayizeye repeated almost the same message on September 29, 2019 during a meeting with the imbonerakure of Cibitoke province. According to the same report, this time, he added that we should no longer arrest and imprison opponents (kirazira kubashira mu kibiriti = forbidden to put them in a match box = term used to say imprison them), that rather, we must kill them (kubambika red beret = dress them in red berets = behead them) and bury them very far from their places of origin so that they are not identified. The same report indicates that clandestine cemeteries have even been discovered in many localities, especially in Muyinga province. Sylvestre Ndayizeye is no different from Isaak Nzaramba who led the genocidal interahamwe militias of Rwanda, and Ezéchiel Nibigira, current minister of East African community affairs and youth, is comparable to Jean Kambanda of Rwanda. Today that he is president, he is doing everything so that they have something to do and earn a little bread without always waiting for Rurimirije to release money to give them just what they need to buy a glass of local drink or hemp and keep killing without fear. The information at our disposal converges on Jean Marie Rurimirije as the man through whom all the funds used by the cnddfdd pass to maintain the imbonerakure, to divide the political parties and the churches.
