Burundi: President Evariste Ndayishimiye is hiding behind the bandits to settle scores with the Tutsis and his political opponents.
President Evariste Ndayishimiye has just declared in a public conference organized on September 25, 2020 in Gitega, that there are no armed groups attacking Burundi. For him, it’s just the bandits. Even the bandits when they threaten the safety of citizens are not to be neglected, he should know. One of the most ridiculous answers Evariste Ndayishimiye gives to this question is: “To attack a country means to take at least one municipality. Did you hear that?’’ Some like to say that Burundians quickly forget. Evariste Ndayishimiye didn’t have time to think and turn his tongue twice before giving this answer. He knows very well that they have spent more than 10 years circling in the forests of Burundi, DR Congo and Tanzania but never managed to permanently occupy any hill in Burundi. Were they called bandits for all that? Were they not invited to the negotiating table with the government and to the end of the signed ceasefire agreements without having recovered any municipality in the country? The government of the day referred to them as “assailants”, “rebels”, and finally “genocidal terrorists”. It was the latter name that suited them and that suits them. Throughout their rebellion, they only killed innocent Tutsis (displaced people, defenceless peasants who sleep at night in their homes, travellers intercepted on the roads to whom they fed human excrement); that is what their struggle was limited to show that the government is incapable of defending its people. Genocide against the Tutsi instead of attacking military positions. Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye, has the government not committed adequate means to fight you since you did not have any commune under your control? When you don’t have an answer because you feel ashamed, you better shut up. The president is not allowed to talk nonsense.
To the journalist’s question as to why CNL members are regularly arrested on charges of complicity with armed groups; would they be these bandits you speak of? Are they accused of collaborating with these bandits? Have these bandits smashed banks? Did they steal from households? If they are really bandits, they are special bandits. Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, why are your gangs of killers hunting ex-fab Tutsis saying they collaborate with the rebels? Your intelligence service and your zealous police and soldiers, accompanied by your imbonerakure militia, accuse them of collaborating with the rebels when they go to arrest them; and you, are you talking about bandits? Who to believe? Who not to believe?
During the whole period that Ndayishimiye and his friends spent in the rebellion, they always sought to exterminate the Tutsi survivors of the 1993 genocide. And it is true that most of these criminals who killed the Tutsis in 1993 were also part of this rebellion because they were not sanctioned. It is understandable then that they should do everything to eliminate the troublesome witnesses. Now that Ndayishimiye and his group have returned through negotiations and find themselves in power, they are doing everything to take revenge on the ex fab who fought them when they sought to exterminate Tutsi survivors of the 1993 genocide
We will never stop repeating it; the military clique in power under the leadership of Evariste Ndayishimiye has no other objectives than to move up a gear in the execution of the genocide of the Tutsi and the Hutus of the opposition in order to reign alone in absolute master. Ndayishimiye put it well in his public lecture: “The days of the race to share the national cake are over.” This simply means that the national cake is now reserved only for individuals around Evariste Ndayishimiye. And he is annoyed by saying that he is a servant of all Burundians, that his government is ‘’ leta Mvyeyi ’’. What a lie? And what is unfortunate, he calls himself a convinced Christian, he says it smiling. Pure and simple hypocrisy. This is very serious, Mr. President. Do you at least remember that this place you occupy today was occupied before June 2020 by your Supreme Leader Pierre Nkurunziza? Where is he? This national cake that you share with whomever you want while it belongs to every Burundian citizen will remain there when you and your group are not there tomorrow. Mr. President, if you really read the Bible and internalized its word, you would not display such behaviour.
Evariste Ndayishimiye is preparing a large-scale genocide, genocide for Burundi, Rwanda and eastern DR Congo. This is evidenced by the relations that the military clique maintains with the Rwandan genocidaires who killed Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994 and who fled to DR Congo. Feeling cornered in this country, they found a warm welcome in Burundi where they receive everything they need from the Ndayishimiye government. The media are starting to reveal that the famous Paul Rusesabagina who found himself in Kigali when he wanted to go to Bujumbura should meet Evariste Ndayishimiye there to strengthen this collaboration with these groups of Rwandan criminals who swarm in Burundi to disrupt Rwanda. It is for this reason that Evariste Ndayishimiye, at any time to speak, never ceases to accuse Rwanda of all evils; a kind of provocation to find pretexts to start this genocide.
URN HITAMWONEZA once again issues a wake-up call to the United Nations Security Council to keep a watchful eye on Gitega’s power. There is a great risk that the situation will deteriorate in a few months in Burundi. The Great Lakes sub-region must also remain vigilant over the actions of the groups of criminals circulating there, supported by the Gitega regime, to bar their way in time, if possible to annihilate them before they pass to the action.
