Burundi: President Evariste Ndayishimiye continues his campaign of seduction towards the international community
After his meeting with media officials working in Burundi and the spokespersons of the institutions, on January 28, 2021, President Evariste Ndayishimiye immediately organized, on January 29, 2021, a ceremony of exchange of greetings with members of the Diplomatic Corps. and Consular accredited in Burundi.
In his speech, Evariste Ndayishimiye “welcomed the organization of this ceremony at a time when peace and security reign throughout the national territory thanks to the vigilance and maturity of the Burundian people”. Baruch Spinoza said that “peace is not the absence of war”. It is not that there is no crackle of arms that there is peace and security in Burundi. Neither physical security, let alone human security, is guaranteed to Burundians. Non-presidential party members sleep every day without being sure to wake up the next day. Thierry Kubwimana did not know that criminals sent by the regime’s big names visited him at 1 o’clock in the night to assassinate him in his marital bed, next to his wife and baby. No one could imagine that his widow Christa Kaneza, 18, was one day handcuffed and taken to prison, unfairly accused of murdering her husband. This is the peace and security that reign throughout the national territory for Evariste Ndayishimiye.
Thierry Kubwimana is one of more than 50 corpses found all over the country and especially on the Rusizi since the seizure of power, by force, by Evariste Ndayishimiye. Thierry Kubwimana was at least buried by his family; the discovered corpses are quickly buried without identification by order of the administrative staff. A general instruction given by the authorities; which proves that these people are being killed by state services that Evariste Ndayishimiye is supposed to control. If he wasn’t the one sending them, he would have stopped these crimes by now. If he isn’t able, he’s not the one in charge of state affairs, better resign than be an extra. And if he just wants to sit in the presidential chair and earn some money; he’ll come out the little window, if he’s lucky enough to get out alive.
Continuing his speech, Evariste Ndayishimiye added: “After the elections went well, we set about restoring trust between political actors. It is thanks to this that those who had fled the country in previous years decide, day after day, to return to their homeland “. Mr. President, all these diplomats were present during the elections; they followed everything, they reported back in their respective countries. If the whole world has let you rule Burundi today, it’s not that they don’t know that you cheated the election results; Maybe even other African heads of state like you are doing this and those diplomats are silent when you manage to silence everyone by force. Perhaps this is African-style democracy. But, do not sing victory when you have stolen the light, your conscience should accuse you if you really are a good Christian as you say.
Burundians need to know how President Ndayishimiye restored trust between political actors. The hundreds of CNL members Agathon Rwasa unfairly imprisoned before, during and after the elections remain in prison. He had promised to have them released before the end of 2020, at the behest of the European Union, but he could not. The cnddfdd decision circle told him no. You will no doubt find other shenanigans to get out of the woods, but failure in front of these diplomats is already over, Mr. President.
Only the influential members of the cnddfdd occupy the juicy positions of the country, no political opponent, from the top up to the level of the basic administration, has any responsibility in the management of the country. Does this restore confidence between political actors? The only politician who returned to the country from the outside is the traitor Anicet Niyonkuru who was posing as a most virulent opponent in his statements, while at the bottom he rolled for power cnddfdd with his boss Minani Jean at the head of CNARED which they subsequently destroyed. Anicet Niyonkuru had as a thank you a post of permanent secretary in a ministry. His comrades in the struggle who remained outside the country are still negotiating the conditions of repatriation, in particular the rehabilitation of their destroyed property as if all that pushed the Burundians, whom they were supposed to represent within the opposition, to flee the country found satisfactory answers.
