Burundi: (part 6) The military clique in power is ready to move on to the final phase of the genocide underway since 2005
We continue our analysis of the 10 stages of genocide as described by Gregory H. Stanton. We have already reviewed the first three which are classification, symbolization and discrimination.
Today we enter the fourth stage of the genocide which is Dehumanization which Gregory defines as “a propaganda assertion of the lesser worth of the victim group compared to the majority group.” Indeed, one group denies the humanity of the other group. Its limbs are assimilated to animals, vermin, insects or diseases. This dehumanization will make it easier to take action when it comes to killing members of the “victim” group. At this point, the hate propaganda disseminated by the media defames the victim group.
For a long time, Hutu extremists, who attended the Palipehutu school, have always portrayed a Tutsi as a killer, an assassin who must be eliminated at all costs. That’s why they called him ‘ikinywamaraso’ (a blood drinker); a sort of ferocious animal that has always drunk the blood of Hutus.
It is this image that is being echoed by the recent hate speech of the notorious Kenny Claude Nduwimana, who made / or designated himself in discretion as the spokesperson for the Hutu extremists of the cnddfdd system. He sings that the Tutsis have always massacred the Hutus for a long time, insisting especially on the events of 1972, 1988 and 1993. He always compares the minority Tutsis to dogs, saying that they do not multiply because they feed on blood Hutus. Insults from an uneducated man, but also incitement to genocide. He tries to point out to the Hutus their enemies, their targets and asks them to exterminate them.
As the Jews were compared to vermin, bacteria; the Rwandan Tutsis were called ‘’ Inyenzi ’(cockroaches); Former President Pierre Nkurunziza compared Burundi’s Tutsis to skinny dogs ‘’ za mujeri ’’. He winked at the Hutus that we should not be afraid of Tutsis, that we should rather arm ourselves with the courage to exterminate them.
URN HITAMWONEZA has always denounced the hate speech against Tutsis propagated on social networks by Kenny Claude Nduwimana who spoke for the military clique that runs the country; but nothing has been done to prevent him from making this incitement to genocide because he is supported by the power of Evariste Ndayishimiye. That is, Kenny Clude Nduwimana says out loud what the whole military clique thinks down or just plans to do. As we have always said, the whole device to move to the final phase of the large-scale genocide has been put in place, these dehumanizing speeches are to awaken the Hutus so that they are prepared to take action immediately. whistle, knowing that killing the Tutsi is like killing an animal.
We know how the war begins, we don’t know how it ends, they say. Burundians should avoid falling into such traps by the military clique in power in Burundi. They know that they have committed a lot of blood crimes and that their place is not at the head of the state, but in prison. They are doing everything to stay in power and dividing Burundians based on ethnicities is the best strategy to achieve this. It is up to us to make the choice: continue to kill each other and let them enjoy the country’s property or drive them out of this power, bring them before the competent courts and build our future together.
