Burundi: Scandalous revelations following the trial of Rwandan Paul Rusesabagina on the collaboration between FLN and the power of Gitega
At the time when the power of Gitega and Kigali had already started talks, both officially (meeting between the heads of the intelligence services and those of diplomacy in Gasenyi / Nemba) and unofficially (other meetings would have taken place in Bujumbura and Kigali, according to the VOA) in order to study ways and means of normalizing relations between the two countries, new problems have never ceased to reappear. Incursions on Burundian soil by negative forces from eastern DR Congo with the objective of disrupting the security of neighbouring Rwanda continued. The most recent date of January 29, 2021 by Nyamitanga, 4th avenue, where between 150 and 200 members of the negative forces entered Burundi, greeted by 30 imbonerakure from Mabayi and would have gone to Citabitoke, in Bukinanyana commune. The others are said to have gathered in Ruhororo opposite Bweyeye. Attacks by these negative forces against Rwanda were reported by the media. For example, Sos Medias wrote that on January 11, 2021, crackling of weapons was heard from the hill and Ruhororo area in Mabayi commune, Cibitoke province. It was the shooting of armed men who spoke Kinyarwanda and who had just spent several years in the region and particularly in the Kibira, according to local witnesses. These shots were fired from Burundi towards Bweyeye in neighbouring Rwanda.
The passage through Burundi of these criminal elements does not take place without the knowledge of the authorities; rather, the Burundian security forces, in collaboration with the imbonerakure militia, organize their reception and give them the necessary logistical support. It simply means that there is a good collaboration between these negative forces (FDRL, FLN) with the power of Evariste Ndayishimiye.
This has just been confirmed once again during the trial of Rwandan Paul Rusesabagina. Many media have been interested in how he unknowingly ended up in Kigali when he believed he was going to land in Bujumbura. Some countries believe he was kidnapped, but Pastor Constantin Niyomwungere, interviewed by Jeune Afrique by videoconference on February 12 and 13, 2021, with the French daily, Liberation, said Paul Rusesabagina had planned to go to Bujumbura. To do what? To meet with the Burundian authorities in order to deal with the case in relation to the strengthening of relations between the Burundian government and the MRCD (Rwandan Movement for Democratic Change) / FLN (National Liberation Forces). The New York Times also reported on September 19, 2020, that Rusesabagina said he was invited to Burundi by Pastor Constantin Niyomwungere to speak in his churches. Other sources of information told NYT that Rusesabagina was going to Burundi to “coordinate with armed groups based in Burundi and Congo”.
The question that might then be asked is how Evarsiste Ndayishimiye and his military clique, at the same time, can forge relations with a neighbouring country and its enemies. You cannot serve two masters at the same time; The Bible said (Matthew 6:24): ‘’ No one can serve two masters. For, either he will hate the one, and love the other; or he will cling to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon’’. Apparently, Evariste Ndayishimiye has already made his choice: Support by all means the negative forces attacking neighbouring Rwanda. The attempts to re-establish relations are only pastimes to allow Gitega to deceive public opinion and especially the countries of the European Union which had promised him the resumption of cooperation so that he could benefit from direct aid for raise its economy. This was predictable because Evariste Ndayishimiye kept making statements accusing Rwanda of being solely responsible for the bad climate between the two countries; he who detains, according to Ndayishimiye, putschists who tried to overthrow the institutions in 2015. He sometimes spoke of a hypocritical country, sometimes he denied that he never said that, sometimes he said that there are no problems between Rwanda and Burundi, that they have only cousin relations. Anything for a head of state.
URN HITAMWONEZA again reminds Burundians that we have a President of the Republic who forges relations with enemies of a neighbouring country and that we will never have peace as long as the security of the neighbour is disrupted from our country. We must then focus on ways and means to free our country from leaders who are only seeking to wreak havoc on us for no reason. Our interest is to live in peace with all our neighbours and especially Rwanda, a brother country with which we share the language and the culture.
